TimeFinder SnapVX is a local replication solution that is designed to non-disruptively create point-in-time copies (snapshots) of critical data.

Steps

  1. Select the storage system.
  2. Click Protection and select Manual SnapVX from the Protected Storage Groups section of the summary panel.
  3. Select a storage group, click An icon showing the letter i, and click the number next to Manual Snapshot Count.
  4. Select a snapshot and select An icon showing the letter i to open the snapshot Details view.

A graphic displaying the replication configuration is displayed. It shows the following items:

    • Containers representing the clone source and clone targets.
      • An icon showing a camera Snapshot
      • An icon of a blue cylinder with the text "I/O" Target
    • An arrow indicating the direction of I/O
    • A central icon and label that indicates the state of the replication pair.
      • An icon of a green circle with a tick symbol Linked, Copied, Restored
      • An icon of a blue circle with two arrow symbols forming a circle Copying, Restoring

    The following properties display:

    • Name—Name of the snapshot
    • Snapset ID—Identifier
    • Creation Time—Date and time the snapshot was created.
    • Expiry Date—Date and time the snapshot is set to automatically terminate when either "Secure" or "Time to Live" has been set. If the snapshot is not set to automatically terminate, N/A is displayed for this field.
    • State—Snapshot state
    • Secured—Indicates whether the snapshot is Secured or not (A checkmark indicates that the snapshot is Secured, a dash indicates that it is not. "Expired" indicates that the snapshot was Secured but is now expired.)
    • Policy Snapshot—Policy snapshot indication
    • Persistent—Persistent indication
    • Snapshot Capacity (MB)—Snapshot capacity
    • Snapshot Capacity (GB)—Snapshot capacity
    • Snapshot Capacity (TB)—Snapshot capacity
    • Volumes—Number of volumes
    • Linked Storage Groups—Number of linked storage groups
    • SRP—SRP name
    • Tracks—Number of tracks that have been allocated to preserve the point in time copy of the source volume since the snapshot was created.
    • Non-Shared Tracks—Number of tracks uniquely allocated for the delta of the snapshot.
    • Expired—Expired indication

There are also links to views displaying objects contained in and associated with the snapshot. There is a number after each link, indicating the number of objects in the corresponding view. For example, clicking Volumes opens a view listing the volumes that are associated with the snapshot.
